There’s a theory that when you’re creating a questionnaire or survey of your customers, the one question that you should place above all others is:

Would you recommend us to a friend?

It’s a testing question that prompts revealing responses. People greatly value their friends and will not refer them to you unless they actually believe in you themselves …

When you receive unprompted referrals make sure that you say thanks to the referrer, and let them know that you really appreciate it …
